Who may benefit from semi-permanent make-up? ![]() ![]() ![]() Every woman who uses eyebrow pencil is a candidate for permanent cosmetics. Those women whose eyebrows are sparse through tweezing or who have all of the brow hair missing can receive this procedure. If your brows are too pale, too short or if you wish to emphasise your eye shape and receive an eyelift effect, permanent cosmetics can give you a soft pencilled look or hair simulation in custom blended colours. ![]() ![]() A subtle natural look, mimicking thousands of tiny eyelashes with the implantation of pigment in the lash line, is popular for both men and women. A more dramatic effect can be achieved with a bold line. Additional shadowing of pigment can be added for a soft natural liner. Applied correctly, eyeliner can make a small eye look bigger and make the lashes look thicker and longer. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() With permanent cosmetics, lips can be made to look fuller and pale lips can have more colour. The procedure helps to balance uneven lips. It also redefines a lip line that has lost definition as a result of age or cold sores. 1. Are permanent cosmetics a form of tattoo? Yes, although during permanent cosmetic procedures the pigment is not deposited as deeply in the skin. 2. What happens during the procedure? During a detailed consultation, together the specialist and the client evaluate the most suitable colours and shape to be created. A topical anaesthetic is applied to the area and the desired shape is drawn with conventional cosmetics. The pigment is then carefully implanted into the skin. Most procedures take about one hour. One retouch procedure is usually required. 3. Will it hurt? There may be some discomfort. Topical anaesthetic is used to reduce the pricking sensation felt. 4. What is the recovery time? There may be some swelling and redness that usually subsides over 48 hours. Most normal activities can be resumed immediately. 5. Is there a chance of infection? Only sterile needles are used for each procedure and are disposed of immediately on termination of treatment. The highest standards of hygiene are maintained at all times. 6. What about allergic reactions? Tattoo pigments have been used for thousands of years and reaction is very rare. Finishing touches pigments are the highest grade and are hypoallergenic. 7. Can I wear conventional makeup over my permanent cosmetics? Yes, permanent cosmetics are designed to be an enhancement of natural features. Wearing traditional make-up is a personal choice. ![]() To book an appointment, please call us on 020 8905 5509 or send us an email from our Contact page by clicking HERE. We are here to help.
