In our clinic we have a range of skin peels which vary in strength. You can choose 100% natural green herbal peel, suitable for younger skins. Most people prefer medium depth 30% TCA chemical peel. Down time depends on the depth of the peel and on average takes about a week. Green Peeling is a very popular procedure in our clinic. It is aimed to diminish uneven pigmentation, fine wrinkles and to rejuvenate ageing skin. This skin peel was originally developed in Germany by Dr. Med. Christine Schammek, and is now used all over the world. Successful for 35 years to treat: The Green peel is a plant-based formula. Based on herbs, algae, enzymes and vitamins, Green Peel is very gentle and 100% natural. There are no side effects of the Green Peel and it is suitable even for the most sensitive skin types. After a short consultation with the physician the Green Peel mixture is applied on your face in a form of gentle massage. It improves circulation and stimulates the growth zone of the skin in order to produce new cells. You may experience a gentle prickling or stinging sensation which is attributed to the action of herbs, such as nettles and marigold. Half an hour later the mixture is removed from yor face with water. A special lotion, care cream and blemish balm (all of them are plant based) are appied on your glowing and pink skin. With these creams, your face will look perfectly normal, so you can resume your daily activities straight away. The same products (lotion, care cream and blemish balm) you have to use at home for the next 5 days. You must avoid using water on your face during that period. Gentle peeling, similar to that after sunburn, usually starts on day 3 and lasts for a couple of days. It is advisable not to plan any social activities during that time. Once peeling is complete you have a pure, smooth and youthful looking skin. Green peel can be repeated several tmes a year. ![]()
Chemical skin peel is commonly used for facial rejuvenation and abnormal skin pigmentation. It works best on white skins. Active peeling stimulates the dermal layer of the skin to produce more collagen and makes the skin look tighter and younger. It improves the condition of the skin, lessens appearance of blemishes common in older age, corrects pigmentation problems caused by sun damage, helps to diminish enlarged pores on the face and treats fine wrinkles. Your whole face will look years younger in only one week. Trichloracetic acid (TCA) is a chemical solution that is applied on the skin, which causes its superficial layer of the skin to separate and peel off 2-3 days later. In our clinic we use from 15% to 30% concentration of TCA. During the procedure the TCA solution is gently applied on the face with a cotton bud by the doctor. You may feel a stinging sesation for a couple of minutes. When it diminishes the second and third layer of TCA is applied in a similar way. The whole procedure usually takes no more than 10 minutes. The treatment is completed by applying a special care cream. Your skin will look slightly pink, but will feel comfortable. For the next 24 hours you should avoid water, heat and sun exposure. Special care cream given to you by the practitioner should be used twice a day for the next 5 days. On day 2, skin will begin to feel tight and dry, it may look a bit old and wrinkly. Pigmentation may be more noticeable at this stage. On day 3, skin starts to flake and peel off. Sun protector (at least factor 30) should be used if going out. Do not attempt to peel off the skin or use abrasives, scrub creams and products containing AHA's or retinol. On day 4, slightly pink, but younger and fresher looking skin is seen on the peeled areas. After 5-7 days following the peel the skin regains normal colour and looks healthy and beautiful. TCA peel patients are advised to avoid sun exposure and must use a sun protection cream (minimum SPF 30) for several weeks following treatment. Failure to comply with this recommendation may produce some unintended changes in the skin, such as pigmentation. Transient reactions may include redness of the skin, itchiness, dryness and in some cases mild swelling. Some patients may experience transient hyper pigmentation. This will settle with the use of special depigmentation cream and sun protection. Skin preparation may be required for darker skin tones and hyper pigmented areas. This involves using a special depigmentation cream for two weeks prior to TCA treatment. It's not advisable to perform chemical peels during the summer months. For facial rejuvenation just one TCA peel is usually sufficient. The effects last up to 12 months. Uneven pigmentation may require 1 or 2 additional peels performed within 2-4 months at a reduced cost. People with darker skin run higher risk of hyper pigmentation. Dermamelan treatment instead of chemical peel may suit these individuals better. A chemical peel is most commonly performed for cosmetic reasons, to enhance appearance and self-confidence. Chemical peel therapy may be performed in conjunction with other treatments. However a chemical peel is not a substitute for a facelift, and does not prevent or slow the aging process. Chemical peeling uses a chemical solution in order to improve the skin's appearance. It can reduce or eliminate fine lines under the eyes and around the mouth, correct uneven skin pigmentation, and soften the appearance of scars caused by acne. The procedure can also reduce the appearance of wrinkles caused by sun damage as well as blemishes common with age and heredity. Chemical peels can be performed on the face, hands and all other body areas. The deepest chemical peel available for small wrinkles only around the eyes and lips. It gives fantastic results, and should be combined with medium depth TCA peel for the rest of the face. Down-time is around 2 - 4 weeks. ![]() To book an appointment, or to find out more about these treatments, telephone us on 0208 9055509, or email Dr.Benson@advancedbeauty.co.uk. We are here to help.
