Liposonix uses high-intensity focused ultrasound to permanently destroy fat tissues without harming surface of the skin. The Lyposonix treatment is cleared for use in the US, Europe and Canada
During a treatment high-intensity ultrasound energy is focused on the targeted fat, similar to the way a magnifying glass works. The energy passes through the skin and the targeted fat beneath the skin is permanently destroyed.
Over the next few weeks, the body naturally removes the destroyed fat from the treatment area, which may leave the patient with a thinner, more contoured waistline.
A single Lyposonix treatment takes about an hour, and the device-maker claims that it can reduce your waistline by an average of 1 inch (2.5 cm), or about one dress or pant size.
The Lyposonix procedure is not a replacement for liposuction surgery or healthy lifestyle, or a way to loose weight.
The Lyposonix possible side effects may include temporary redness, mild bruising, discomfort and swelling.
